Phoenix Country
Club is not only a place or a group of people – it is a community with a
foundation established in friendships, camaraderie, and experiences made one
relationship at a time. Within our Phoenix CC community, we want everyone to find
their place to belong whether it be on the golf course, tennis courts, social
activities or even over a meal in the 1899 grill. This is the cornerstone of
our Membership and listed in our core values. We invite you to visit us,
experience our community and find your place to belong. This is Phoenix CC – we

|
| 1899 |
Established in 1899In October 1899, a small group from the Phoenix community established a golf club with 75 members. A log cabin, located on Roosevelt and Central served as the first Clubhouse where it offered Tennis and 9 holes of golf until 1919.

|
| 1905 |
Surviving the Flood of 1905The Cave Creek Flood of 1905 sent waters rushing directly onto the tennis courts and golf course. Although there was flood damage, the Club remained at this site for another 10 years.

|
| 1915 |
Tennis was "It" at the 1915 ClubhouseWhile located on Northern and Central Avenues and the canal, Phoenix Country Club boosted a strong tennis community. The legacy continues today at its current location.

|
|
| 1919 |
Club completes 18-Hole golf course, boasting grass fairways Phoenix Country Club established its final home on Thomas and 7th Street. The 18-hole Championship Golf Course was designed by architect Harry Collis. It was the first time in 20 years that the Membership played on grass fairways, while the greens remained oiled sand for many more years.

Home of the Phoenix Open 1932 - 1986Bob Goldwater - is credited as creator and organizer of the Phoenix Open. Mr. Goldwater personally recruited professional golfers and Hollywood celebrities to participate. Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Arnold Palmer and Jimmy Demerit are just a few the renowned golf champions who participated over the years

Thunderbirds donate millions to Arizona CharitiesThe Thunderbirds became the tournament sponsor of the Phoenix Open. For over 80 years, the Thunderbirds raised and donated millions of dollars to various Arizona charities.

Pro-Am TournamentsFor over its 50 year history, the Phoenix Open Pro-Am Golf Tournaments included many Hollywood Celebrities such as Bob Hope, Bing Crosby and Dean Martin

| 2002 |
Golf Course RedesignedThe re-design team of Tom Lehman & John Fought, enhanced the course with new greens & bunkers, added new hybrid grass, increased lake sizes, and redesigned all par 3's

| 2009 |
Clubhouse & Amenity renovation to support growing membership The clubhouse was renovated in 2009 to house and support a membership current population of approximately 2,600.

Home of the PGA Tour Charles Schwab Cup ChampionshipAfter 30 years, Phoenix Country Club annouces they will once again host a PGA Golf Tournament The Charles Schwab Cup Finale. |
